First Buck

Postby USAFdeerhunter » Fri Dec 23, 2016 6:45 pm

Last yeast, very last day of the season my youngest son shot his first deer, it was a small doe. This year we have seen countless does, and no matter how much I tried to get him to pull the trigger he wouldn't. Said he wanted to wait for a buck! We have hunted our backsides off trying to make it happen, and they kept eluding us...until today! The buck came walking down the trail at 30 yards stopped to eat some acorns. From my view I didn't think it was turned enough to get a shot so I told him when it turns you can take the shot, he said dad it's perfect for me so I gave him the go ahead and he threw some lead at it. It ran about 40 yards and layed down for good! So proud of his dedication and patience!
