He isn't a monster but a good mature buck prob 31/2 a memory for sure hunted with my younger brother we don't get to hunt like we did when we were younger he just got into crossbow hunting bow hunted very little some positive thoughts he is still a little apprehensive about getting deer close enough to be effective with the crossbow I'm sure it won't be our last hunt together

congrats. He looks huge bodied. What kind of crossbow are you shooting? I have been thinking about getting my wife one. She has a disease and hunting with a bow is getting harder and harder for her every year. And I dont know the first thing about them and I dont want to break the bank with one.

I got the excqllibur matrix 175# pull bought it on eBay for $459 I really like it another is the Barnett lady raptor is a good shooting bow around $350 for the package comes with red dot ,quiver,3 bolts and rope cocking device they should fit her well the cocking rope makes cocking easy I like the red dot over the scope the scope with the elevation lines kind of looks fuzzy to me the red dot just has 3 dots 20,30,and40 yds you can use red or green I bought a 30mm scope it was about $80 the Barnett is real compact only 16" axle to axle I used the raptor 2 seasons killed some good deer with it no problems this year I went to the recurve limb bow because it looked cool it shoots great too just practice

Thank you. Just looked up the Barnett. Looks good except she hates that Pink Camo stuff. Maybe I can find one without it.

Thanks again. I will look at that one. Does it actually take 150-175lbs of strength to cock the crossbow or do they have "let off" like a compound bow. Like I said, I know absolutely nothing about them, ha.

No with the cocking devise it only takes about 1/4 the actual draw weight easy enough for a youth or female #150 bow you actually pull 37# academy and sportsmans warehouse both cary a line of Barnett crossbows.take her up and let her get a feel for one she will love it I struggled trying to shoot a vertical bow for a few years I finally gave up the crossbow is a good alternative and they are deadly.

10-4. Her strength really isnt the problem but it is more of her steadiness. She still shoots right at 60 pounds but she has a hard time being steady without a rest any more. Thank you and Merry Christmas
