I have a coworker who has never killed a deer and really don't have very good Access to good hunting ground.
I took him hunting few times last year but no luck....Well, with my new property it is near enough to get an evening hunt in after work.
We had said we would go Friday evening after work. Then all the sleeting started and we almost backed out, but we decided to both go set up in a covered potable ground blind since I have not got any shoot houses in place yet.
We got set up and it really started to sleet hard and it covered ground fast.
We stayed dry but my buddy looked like he was starting to dought seeing a deer. Sleet slacked up a little and it was about 15 minutes till dark.
I told him to just keep look on the wood line that most of the deer usually come out last 15 minutes of daylight to feed in the foodplot. I mean a minute after I said that...a big doe came out feeding on the plot . Took him about a minute to settle cross hair on shoulder and I told him to slowly pull trigger and as soon as he shoots the deer drops.
Boy.....that was fun.....been a couple years since I was in stand for first kill.
Don't get much better than that!
