Finally got a new-ish truck!!

Whatever you want to discuss

Finally got a new-ish truck!!

Postby RoadRanger » Mon Apr 17, 2017 6:34 am

Well after having older, high mileage trucks my entire life the wife and I went looking Saturday and found a good deal. I've never had something so nice so you folks on three road can't tell me nothing now!

2012 Silverado LT 4x4 that's local one owner. Well taken care of with no dents or scratches even. This thing should last me till the rapture. ImageImageImage

It's WAY fancier of a truck than I am. Why do I need pedals that are adjustable, phone call ability from the steering wheel or on star??? Hey it came that way so I'll take it.

Pros: The newer vehicles are certainly beautiful and a pleasure to drive.
Cons : If you ever require repairs, you best have a big bank account. A friend has the same model, which is out of warranty and something with the four wheel drive went on the blink. Cost him 5, 200.00, for the repair. My brother n law has a 2012 Nissan four wheel drive, that has issues also. It's been sitting up for a year now. Whatever it is wasn't covered under warranty. I dread the day that Sherrie's GMC Suv, needs major repairs.

the A/c control module in the dash will cost over $400.00 to replace + labor.

It is totally ridiculous. Kinda like the big pharmaceutical companies. They spend millions on research to develop life saving drugs, but then when they get approved by the FDA. No one can afford them and insurance won't cover the cost. Same with the 30 & 40 thousand dollar vehicles. When something fails, so sorry you still have to make the payment. Your warranty is out or that item is not covered. And the manufacturer could care less about your complaint.

RoadRanger, I am not trying to get you down. It's a beautiful truck and every working man, like you deserves the ride
Just keep it serviced, and I hope you never have an issue.

I know crap happens. No worries here. I was blessed enough to get it purchased and be debt free.. So down the road repairs can be done without hurting my monthly bills

So glad for you. I hope you get many years of driving pleasure out of it without any malfunctions. It is truly a beautiful truck.

Good looking truck but the only thing I see wrong with it is that it has a bow tie on the front lol

You are doing it right! Mine is 14 years old and in only 11 more years it will be paid off and be all mine. That is a fine looking truck. You should be proud.

Yeah, but it really is 14 years old and has 270,000 miles on it. If I'm lucky I will still be driving it another 14 years. That 7.3 diesel is showing no signs of slowing up any at all. I bought a car to drive back and forth to work in Houston , but if I have a need to drive it over there, I have no issue with it. I drove it last month and I'm sure I will again. Enjoy your truck.

Gorgeous truck Road Ranger! I'm a little jealous! I almost sold my 2011 Tacoma and bought a new 1/2 ton a couple of months ago, but decided I'd wait another year and not have to finance anything. I still am undecided about getting a GM truck, although I really like the Silverado/Sierra. I also have a 2001 F250 7.3 diesel that I ordered back in 2000. It's a great truck and I will keep it as long as it runs. They really do put a lot of stuff on trucks that most people don't need, but you end up getting it just because it's part of the package. Enjoy your new ride. It really is nice looking.
