Whatever you want to discuss

helo rescue

Postby BigRic » Sat Sep 13, 2008 8:06 pm

This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan on a helo rescue mission.
The pilot is a PA National Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life.

Now how many people on the planet you reckon could set the rear end of a
chopper down on the roof top of a shack, on a steep mountain cliff, with high winds
swirling all around, and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear.
If this does not impress you... nothing ever will.

God Bless our military.

you forgot to mention that the guy is flying blind too, he can't see the building at all. there's a guy in the back of the helo talking the pilot down.

i've seem some amazing things done with these things.

we flew in them at Ft.Hood Tx. The pilot landed it in the lake and we had to pick up our feet to keep from getting wet. when we took off he tilted it up to drain the water out.
