RESPECT FOR THE KING
As I enter the woods and make not a sound.
I wonder how it will be, to meet the mighty
King of this land I have hunted so long patiently.
It's said that the lion is King of the jungle
And this I was taught to be true
Though the person who said it was intelligent
it seems, I doubt that he ever met a true King.
The white tail buck in his splendor glory shall
not be denied his rightful story.
With his coat of pure bronze and tail of pure white
and antlers that gleem in the pale moonlight.
He walks through our woodlands and makes not a sound
His senses so keen should he need to abound
He's a MONARCH among us with incredible sight
To be called the KING would only seem right.
As I enter my blind and crouch so low I nock an arrow
onto my bow, with the wind in my face I strain to hear
If the KING is approaching and drawing near.
And then in the distance I hear a faint sound of a twig
or a limb snap on the ground
From out of nowhere the great monarch appears
Now at forty yards and coming near.
As I draw my bow my eye finds the spot
To place the arrow for the killing shot
As the arrow flies home the great monarch lies down
The woods go silent I hear not a sound
With respect that is due him I kneel at his side and
know that he walked these woodlands with pride.
Then all at once the birds start to sing as if bidding
farewell to this MONARCH the KING.

I am not sure how long it's been around. GTK knows. I was over on the old state forums before they shut them down. A lot of people over there were not real friendly and GTK invited me over here. We used to have more active members, and we tend to be low key and drama fee so people looking for drama tend not to stay long.

That's the way it needs to be. We seem to have picked up a few new members lately. I hope they stay around!

I know it was here when Chadbragg, posted his Tamale Recipe on the other site. Cause that's when I left and came over here. But he just wouldn't let it go. He has never let me forget about our discussion on the making of Tamales. Lol

I think there's plenty of drama here, but it's the right kind. And, yes, I do hope the new folks stick around too.
