this one is done with the 3 wire servo. the next p41 is already hacked with the stereo jack. i got cybersniper from real deal to hack that one for me.

patriot: i haven't sold one yet. if you look up in the general forum i posted a link to a guy that sells them about as cheap as you can find them. marsh ghost is the name of the camera i think.
i would recommend making one yourself. it's not really hard at all and i'm sure gtk, reb or, myself could walk you through it pretty easily. over at hags house there's a 16 year old guy that's making his own. let us know if your interested in making one and we'll do what ever we can to help :D . it's pretty injoyable to get pics from one that you made yourself and they work twice as well as the store bought cams.

Cost of my cams:

Case from Cases for Less: 18.00
Board -- (other options available)
BG2 - $40 OR
SnapShotSniper - $59
Pix - $47 OR

Flash Enhancer - $2.75
Servo Connector - $3.00
Misc Part/Accessories -- $10-$20 ??

Biggest Variable is the camera. You can pick a P32 up for < $100 and the P41's are going for about $130+ right now. Other cameras like the D360, D370, & D380 will work.

So...

Parts -- (averaging) - $85
Camera - $135

puts you in the neighborhood of $220?

Lugnut,, what did i leave out ?

Lugnut....That looks great!

Where do you find directions, etc on making these? I've read where people have them posted, but I haven't been able to come across them yet.

that's about right gtk; i think the most exspensive one i've built cost me 250.00

there's a number of places to find the modification directions here's a few

http://www.pixcontroller.com/ (look on the left side of the page and scroll down to camera mod. PDF's) there are a number of camera directions here.

just cut and paste this in to you address bar and it should come right up.. you may have to become a member of the site, it's kinda like this site.

http://www.easy3dcamo.com/building.html
this site has a lot of good info on it as well

http://hagshouse.ipbhost.com/forums/index.php?act=index
another good source of information on making these things

if you don't find what your looking for here; let me know and email some plans to ya.

ghc..

its pretty easy now-a-days. Soldering very small parts is basically a thing of the past. You do have to solder a couple things, but its fairly easy. Basically, all you really have to do is buy parts & assemble.

One of the more difficult parts is getting the fresnal lens aligned correctly. Sometimes you hit it right the first time, other times it takes me 3 or 4 tries :)

gtk; when i line my sensor and lense up this is how i do it.

get some extra board spacers and cut them to 1/4''. drill your holes in the case and make sure the sensor is somewhere near the center of the hole. next goop the edges of the lense and apply it to the case. before it dries install your board with the 1/4" spacers and tighten the board down. now if you flip the case over and look through the lense you will be able to see the magnified sensor behind it, all you have to do is move the lense around with you finger until it's centered on the sensor. take your board out and run another bead of goop around the edge of the lense to make it water tight. reinstall the board with your proper length spacers and your done.

this is the easyest way i've found to do it. it took me about 10 times to line up my first one until i figured out you can see the sensor through the lense if you get it close enough to it. by using the 1/4" spacers your puting the sensor really close to the lense. hope you can use this to make it a little easier. :D

Sounds like a plan.

I'll try that on this next build. The 2.5mm stereo jack is supposed to be here tomorrow, and a couple parts from radio shack and I'm ready to start working on it.
