Back from Colorado

Back from Colorado

Well the weather followed me all the way to CO. A group from work went to CO for archery elk and mule deer. We only had 2 guys that drew mule deer tags, so the rest all elk hunted. Man I wish I had a muzzleloader or rifle- l'd tagged out Monday morning. But little did we know it was going to rain everyday we were there. This time of year, it needs to be dry so the elk will have to go to the water holes to drink. With it raining there isn't much need for that. The bulls stayed in the canyons to make for some tough bowhunting. At the end, only one in our group got a shot and didn't connect. The mule deer hunters had much better luck, both tagging out on some nice mule deer! As always, we had a good trip and got to see some great country.

Temps were pretty good...low 40's in the morning warming up to high 60's-70 in the afternoon. It would just start storming about 2-3 o'clock everyday. The guy we hunted with said he has held that lease (10,500 acres) for 11 years and has never seen it rain like that....go figure...
