what are those flowering trees called ? I saw several of those in southern alabama

They are japanese Magnolias, or saucier magnolias. I have the light purple and the darker purple.

FC the garden is on the hill. I started preparing it this week, even got irish potatos planted!

I've got grand plans myself but we'll see how it pans out. Working a garden by yourself is work. But I gotta have some fresh maters, butter beans, peas, cut corn casserolle, fried orka, string beans, squash, fried eggplant

Bring on them groceries !!!!!
