Another Unwelcome Guest at the Hummer Feeder

Postby Ironwood » Thu Jul 14, 2011 9:26 am

This came up last night in the chat room. Yep, Green Anoles like sugar water also. This ol' boy was drinking out of the feeder until he saw me. After that he started moving around to the other side of the feeder. Then it was up up and away! I wasn't quite fast enough to get him drinking the sugar water.

Ironwood, what else do you put in those feeders ? :)

I have still not observed anything coming to my hummingbird feeders, except hummingbirds and yellowjackets.

Gtk, you mean beside yellow jackets, ants, honey bees, red wasp and Finches? Well I do get some hummingbirds at times. :D

I just use a standard 4-1 mix of water to sugar. It could be I just spend lots more time watching the feeders. Being retired does have it's advantages. :D

dont know if this is normal, but anytime during a rain it seems like every hummingbird in a area will come to the feeders.
