Msdeer.Net  will be hosting their third Magnolia Records Deer Scoring Session, on Saturday August 21st, 2010 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. If you know someone who would like to have a deer scored please share this information with them.

Goodman Oaks Church of Christ is located at 1700 Goodman Road in Southaven, MS.

The Magnolia White-Tailed Deer Records Program is the official scoring program for the State of Mississippi. To date over 5,500 deer have been officially scored of which over 3500 have met the minimum requirements of 125 typical points and 155 non-typical points.

Magnolia Records is a collaborative effort between the Mississippi Wildlife Federation and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks to officially recognize trophy deer taken within the state. All deer entered into Magnolia Records are listed on a county-by-county basis and are available to view at http://www.mswildlife.org. Just click on Partnerships and then Magnolia Records or you can go directly to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks’ website at http://www.mdwfp.com, click on Wildlife and then Magnolia Records.

All white-tailed deer taken legally within Mississippi during any prior hunting season are eligible to participate. Entrants meeting the minimum requirements will receive an official Magnolia Records Program Certificate.

Here are some pics from previous Magnolia Records Scoring sessions.  The prior turnouts has been excellent,  with some great deer scored.   Hopefully this year will be another good one.  We enjoy meeting folks and love seeing the great deer brought in.  Click on any pic for a larger one

The antler scoring system used for the Magnolia Records Program is identical to that used by the Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young Clubs.

The minimum scores for the Magnolia Records Program are 125 -  Typical, 155 - Non-Typical.

All white-tailed deer taken legally within Mississippi during any prior hunting season are eligible to participate in the Magnolia Records Program. All entrants meeting the minimum requirements of the Magnolia Records Program will receive an official Magnolia Records Program Certificate.  If you have deer you think would meet the minimum requirements and want to get it scored, bring it with you to the meeting and we will score it for you.

There is no charge for scoring your deer.  If the deer has been officially scored for Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young, or Longhunters purposes, please bring the official score sheet with your mount to the scoring session.
